# Gatefold

Gatefold is a Shopify theme for record stores, labels and music merch: release dates, editions, pre-orders, reviews and a release calendar, built in.

Gatefold is built for stores that sell music. Every record knows its artist, label, format, edition and release date, so the store can show the right badge, group every pressing of an album together, take pre-orders the right way and fill a release calendar on its own. Gatefold is a product of Electric Mud Creative.

## Key features

* **Release data from metafields:** artist, album, label, format, disc count, edition, vinyl colors, pressing features and tracklist, read from the metafields your catalog already uses.
* **Release state by date:** a future release date makes a pre-order, a past one makes a release, with no tags to keep up to date.
* **Formats and editions:** every pressing of an album on one product page, as switchable editions or as cards in a buy box with dispatch dates.
* **Pre-order acknowledgement:** an optional switch shoppers turn on before they can buy a pre-order, including express checkout.
* **Release calendar:** upcoming releases by week or day, on its own page or on the home page.
* **Release banners and spotlight:** featured, new in store, pre-order, out this week and out now banners, and a rotating release spotlight.
* **Reviews and stories:** the blog doubles as a review section with scores, the reviewed record and a buy button, in nine editorial feed layouts.
* **Offers that never discount:** a cart drawer add-on, a recommendations panel, frequently bought together and checkout offers.
* **Search for record shoppers:** artist suggestions, department tabs (Vinyl, CDs, Cassettes, Movies), result tabs and quick filters.
* **Four presets:** Default, Indie Label, Record Shop and Merch.
